Woodbine offers a dedicated unit for complete respiratory care. It is designed to help respiratory patients that require the use of a ventilator or tracheostomy and is in need of short term/long-term, chronic and/or hospice care to achieve the highest level of independence possible.
Led by our medical director; Samir Al Khouri, MD who is a pulmonary specialist, our respiratory team of critical care physicians, nurses and skilled rehab and respiratory therapists provide Woodbine patients with around-the-clock care in what has become the region’s largest and most progressive respiratory center of its kind.
State-of-the-art equipment and services make it possible for some of our patients to move freely about the building, speak, and eat solid food.
Woodbine offers a staff of physicians, therapists, nurses and nursing assistants who are assigned exclusively to residents who require respiratory services. Their care is provided within an area of the community dedicated to respiratory care that was completely renovated in late 2017.
Led by our Respiratory Care medical director, Samir Al Khouri, MD, who is Board certified in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care, our respiratory team provides Woodbine patients with around-the-clock care in what has become the region’s largest and most progressive respiratory center of its kind.
Services include temporary and permanent tracheostomy and ventilator care, including weaning and decannulation, as well as treatment and management of conditions incident to chronic respiratory insufficiency. Whenever feasible, the goal of our care team for residents is to achieve liberation from mechanical ventilation and the highest level of independence possible.
Using State-of-the-art equipment, our staff is able to help some patients move freely about the community as well as speak, and eat solid food.
